Debugging & Troubleshooting

Service Description:

If you are facing problems with errors and bugs in the implemented system, it may be necessary to debug it. Debugging is a methodical process of finding and reducing the number of bugs, or defects, thus making it behave as expected. Debugging tends to be harder when various subsystems are tightly coupled, as changes in one may cause bugs to emerge in another. Troubleshooting is a form of problem solving, often applied to repair failed products or processes. It is a logical, systematic search for the source of a problem so that it can be solved, and so the product or process can be made operational again. Troubleshooting is needed to develop and maintain complex systems where the symptoms of a problem can have many possible causes.

User Requirements:

In case a problem has caused a major negative effect upon expected outcomes of the system, an incident report needs to be filled and filed in the project profile folder. Contact the Development Department and please have the following information available (as appropriate):

  1.  Your name, department and contact information.

Activity List:

  1. Establish a test environment.
  2. Assess the system against reported bug or problem.
  3. Perform Alpha testing.
  4. Perform Beta testing.
  5. Document the outcome and purposed solution.
